Welcome
Welcome to my homepage. This is the beginning of my second step in the world of HTML, CSS and other neat ways to create a website. Nothing is perfect, nothing will be perfect. If links don't work, I apologize in advance and I ask you for the favour to report that to me. It's not easy to keep a big website in order by myself, so please, help me if you think I should know something. If you have just an idea, you can post it in the guestbook or send me an eMail. You can find my eMail adress under "contact". Thank you! |

About me...
I am German, born in 1982, in Dresden (Germany). My name is Paul. I grew up in Berlin and since October 2004 I am medical student in Rostock (northern Germany).
In my off-time I'm programming small websites for private people. To get along a bit better with my life I'm trying to sell some of my photographs (with help of my grandcousin). From time to time I'm going to check the service in big fast-food-chains and other big companies (mystery shopping) and I work for one of the most flexible employer, the Table-Service-Team in Berlin. I'm building a commercial part of my website about photography, it's lots of work. I'll keep doing that besides studying, which started in October '05. I really enjoy every subject in medical school, everything else has to stand back a bit right now. |
My Life
Well, let's make it very short, nobody wants to be bored. I was born in 1982. In 1988 I went to primary school, 1st grade. In about 4th grade I knew already I would like to become a doctor. In 1994 I switched from primary school to highschool (called "Gymnasium" in germany). After my graduation I went to military services as ambulance man. I had a wicked time, even though I lost a lot of knowledge, including common sense. Military is not too hard "brain work", so that's why, I guess. When I finished military I didn't get a place to study medicine in Germany, my graduation wasn't good enough. I found something good to do. The hospital in Bernau, close by Berlin, gave me the possibility for a practical training at the surgery station. That was a great experience, I saw a lot and the nurses who showed me everything where really nice. However, that was over after 8 weeks and I was doing nothing again. I became "officially unemployed" and got money from the gouvernment for the following six months. That was nice, I used that time to play with my computer and learn a lot about this fast developing technology. I missed it to learn anything about the construction of websites, so I'm doing that now. Done being unemployed (the gouvernment didn't pay anymore) I decided to become AuPair. It was a great decision, there are almost no male AuPairs. Everybody asked if I'm gay or if something is wrong. No, I'm not gay and nothing is wrong. During this period I was sure I want to become pediatrician and I thought it might be nice to figure out if I can handle kids and I wanted to get out of Germany. So I made the step and applied for this program at Cultural Care AuPair in Berlin. You can see my whole AuPair-life, documented in pictures in photoalbums at Pixum. After my year being Au Pair I spend 6 weeks traveling through the USA (East Coast to West Coast) with Suntrek, together with my brother. You can see the pictures of this too, it was really amazing! European people who have been there with me can also order copys of the pictures from Pixum. They are still under copyright, even if you have a copy, you are not allowed to publish them anywhere. (Sorry, but the law makes me put this sentence in ) If you want to view those albums, klick on "USA Year Pictures" on the left. A week after I got back (and after a really nice "welcome back" party) I started in the "Gläsernes Labor", where I was responsible for directing & editing a movie and later for taking care of a lab. When I finished there in the end of March I applied for jobs everywhere and finally got one in a supermarket. It was an "ok"-job but when an electronics store called and asked for an interview I decided to quit the supermarket and do that instead. Also I'm working as freelance webdesigner for Art-X. Since October I'm going through the ups- and (few) downs of medical school. I'm now offically through pre-clinical education, passed the first part of the stateexam and I know have the title cand.med. The clinical part of medschool is much more fun than preclinical and I enjoy keeping on studying...
